Challenges in the christian walk

Why people change when they find out you are a Christian

Have you ever wondered why people change on you after they find out that you are a Christian?
Well, I think I get it now……
I’ve always wondered about this, you meet people and start sharing the regular pleasantries you know like where you from and about your kids, family etc. then you share your faith with them about how good God is and they share about their church and you think WOW! What a nice person! You are really so happy to have met this colleague, or friend etc.
After a few days you come along full of joy and ready to share lunch and be friendly, but, the person is not the same any more!
Suddenly you seem to disagree about unimportant stuff.

Well, here’s my take on this issue
When we here the word of God about Salvation through Gods Son Jesus Christ John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” we all have to make a choice, many people choose not to receive the gift of salvation and assume the position that God loves them to much to sent them to hell.
Then we come along, with our changed lives beaming with the joy of the Lord and an overwhelming desire to share with people the grace of God. That is what Scares those people who refused the gift of Gods salvation, it makes them want what you have because of the conviction of the heart John 16:8-9 “And when He (Holly Spirit) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: “of sin, because they do not believe in Me”.

A born again Christian is like a threat to those who refuse to confess Jesus as saviour and Lord Romans 10: 9 if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Repentance brings us back to God, blessings and life in God is a wonderful experience. Nothing is too much for God; He provides in every way and has a perfect plan for His children. So we live in the grace and provisions of God,
This abundance and grace and love of God which bring the Believer into a new life of joy and contentment are what the unbeliever do not have and does not understand. So when we come along and the unbeliever sees what God has done (is doing) in the life of a believer it’s a hard pill for an unbeliever to swallow because it makes them jealous.
This is where the fruits of the Spirit and the fruit of the flesh are very evident.
An unbeliever can not now pretend any longer to be a Christian because people around him/her can see the real thing in you. So that’s why the person changes in character after you though you two were going to be great friends. Galatians 5:17 “ For the flesh lusts agains the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish” verse 19-21: “The works of the flesh are evident, which which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Verse 22” But the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law”.
Now, next time you find a person turning on you without any reason, remember that your life in God is what makes them feel jealous because you have what they want. The difference is that people who refuse salivation are rebellious and want to get to heaven on their own merits.
Never compromise your stand in Christ
It is very important that you know who you are in Christ and that in Him you are safe no “weapon form against you will prosper” Isaiah 54:17
